NASA Leaders Announce What They Will Do If Uhuru Is Declared Winner

A group of National Super Alliance (NASA) Leaders on Saturday announced that they will not recognise President Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory in the repeat poll.

Led by Siaya Senator James Orengo, the NASA leaders termed the Thursday poll flawed. The leaders are expected to declare their next course of action tomorrow.

Addressing the public at Athi River town in Mavoko, Machakos County, the politicians maintained that their Leader Raila Odinga remains the people’s president.

"We will shock them. They will know that you can have power and the guns, but you cannot rule over a people that have refused to obey your leadership

"We will use August 8 results to swear NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga if Uhuru Kenyatta tries to use October 26 poll results to be sworn in," Orengo stated.

Former Senator Johnson Muthama on his part accused the police of using excessive force. He promised to proceed with a suit seeking for the conviction of Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet for the killings.

"There are several killings that had been done across the country, as the Commander-in-Chief, the President must have sanctioned the officers involved," Muthama explained.

Regarding Thursday's election,Mr Muthama claimed that IEBC was inflating votes for the President even after its Chairman Wafula Chebukati had claimed that only 6.5 million people had voted.
"There was poor turn out. The President was alone in the contest. Why are they rigging for him when he has the contest for himself?" Muthama noted

Meanwhile,Mr Odinga on Friday asked his supporters to await a major announcement on Monday.
Speaking from Kibera in Nairobi, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader observed that the electorate of Kenya had heeded NASA's call to boycott the presidential election.

"Even in Gatundu there were no voters. Kenyans heeded NASA's call to boycott the elections and that is why on Monday I shall make a major announcement to tell all of you the way forward," Odinga stated.
