One Person Dead As Kikuyu And Luo Communities Clash In Nairobi's Lucky Summer And Baba Dogo Estate.

The Kenya police are on the spot again after fatally shooting a resident at the Lucky Summer Estate in Nairobi's Eastlands area.

According to findings by Tuko.co.ke, the police fired at the bodaboda operator on Sunday, October 22 while attempting to disperse a riotous group. Conflicting reports have however emerged with some claiming that the bodaboda operator though badly injured, is still alive.

The group is said to have been protesting against an alleged insurgence of the outlawed Mungiki sect.

When word spread that Mungiki members were holding a meeting in the area, the residents decided to stage protests. Reports by Tuko.co.ke reveal that some of the residents became agitated after allegedly seeing a group of men armed with clubs and matchetes meeting within the area.

The police in turn responded with live bullets in a bid to calm the agitated crowd of protesters. "We are fearing that these are Mungiki members. How can they tell us that they were in a prayer meeting when they were carrying pangas and matchetes?" A puzzled resident asked.

This comes after a wave of police brutality hit the streets with many people losing their lives after being gunned down. Raila supporters had earlier waged a war against the Nairobi business community which was suspected to be a division of the infamous Mungiki Sect.
