President Uhuru Kenyatta Sets 1 Condition Before Holding Dialogue With Raila

President Uhuru Kenyatta has set one condition before engaging in dialogue with National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking moments after he was declared the President-elect, Kenyatta stated that there would be no dialogue before the constitutional mechanisms were exhausted.

The President stated that the IEBC had made its announcement, however, there was still another process.

He noted that his victory was also likely to be subjected to test in the courts but he was ready for the outcome.

"The people of Kenya decided, the IEBC made their announcement. There is still another process, we shall await its outcome," President Kenyatta stated.

"Let the aggrieved exhaust all constitutional processes first before we discuss dialogue," he added.
IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati declared President Kenyatta the winner of the repeat poll on Monday afternoon at the Bomas of Kenya amid cheers from leaders allied to the Jubilee Party who were in attendance.

Mr Kenyatta garnered 7,483,895 Million votes (98.26%) of the total votes cast beating Mr Odinga who got 73,228 votes(0.96%), despite pulling out of the poll.

Abduba Dida got 14,107 votes (0.19%), Cyrus Jirongo got 3832 votes (0.06%), Japheth Kaluyu 8261 votes (0.11%), Joe Nyagah 5554 votes (0.07%) while Michael Wainaina got 6007 votes - (0.08%).

The winner was announced without the results from some regions in Nyanza with IEBC Deputy Chairperson Consolata Nkatha explaining that they would not affect the outcome.
