Raila Reveals Details Of His Secret Plan With Akombe

NASA leader Raila Odinga has revealed secret details of his plan with former IEBC Chairman Roselyn Akombe.

The former Prime Minister stated that he had been in constant communication with the former IEBC commissioner right from the week after the August 8 election.

Akombe had grabbed headlines after she was temporarily detained at the JKIA as she sought to leave the country.

The NASA leader stated that he was concerned by the August incident and called the former IEBC commissioner immediately after the incident.

"We talked and she told me that they had tried to strip her naked as they searched for any possible evidence and secrets of the annulled Presidential poll,” the Opposition chief stated.

Odinga made the rather unusual revelations in Akombe’s home county of Nyamira.

He added that he had kept in touch with the former IEBC boss before he finally fled to the United States after purporting to travel to Dubai to inspect the printing of ballot boxes.

"Her plan was very well calculated and she moved her family and luggage ahead of the Dubai trip while tricking the rest of the IEBC commissioners that she would join them only to land in New York," the former premier claimed.

Akombe has indicated that Odinga’s withdrawal from the presidential race was one of the reasons that led her to quit after some of her staff was threatened while conducting training in Nyanza – a stronghold of the NASA leader.
